My Mexican friends' difficult choice

Over the past couple of months, a Mexican friend of mine has been harassed by two policement demanding he sell drugs and split the profits with them. Up front I'll tell you when he was a teenager, he was hanging out with friends on a corner in Guadalajara when a patrol truck stopped.

Several police got out and began harassing the kids and one policeman, unprovoked, pulled out his pistol and shot my friends lifelong best friend. Nothing was reported, the policman was never charged.

My friend could not live with this. That so many people had witnessed such a blatant killing by a cop in the presence of other cops who said nothing, on a public street but were too afraid to report it.

So my friend, full of wrath, gets a pistol, waits one night til the assassin cop and his partners stop to harass another group, pulls out the pistol and kills the cop in front of everyone who knew why. He dropped the gun, the police beat him nearly to death, he was tried, sentenced and sent to prison for 7 years.

In prison he acquired several tatoos and began wearing his hair back with a ponytail, this makes him look like a cholo (gangster) though in fact he's a very nice guy, honest and trustworthy. He doesn't smoke or do drugs and makes his living cutting lawns and doing odd jobs.

Unfortunately, here in Mexico the drug culture has corrupted some police officers for profit and for some, under threat of death for them and/or their families should they resist or interfere with drug trafficking.

Now I've known my friend for about 3 years now and he has washed my truck, cut my grass, cleaned up my backyard and whatever other chores I pay him to do.

I knew some of the police beat Mexicans and are almost never reported since most are afraid of them. I know many police and on good terms with them but they treat extranjeros (foreigners) differently than how they treat Mexicans, especially if you don't have a regular job with family or wife to fall back on. The few who are rotten, crooked cops prey on single guys, beating them, stealing from then and trying to make them sell drugs as they have done to my friend.

Maybe four months ago he was very worried and began telling me there was one local cop who had threatened to kill him and dump his body in the country if he didn't sell drugs and split the profits. He showed me two cellphone messages from this cop and I urged him to print them out as evidence. He doesn't know the name of the cop but describes him as white hair and fat, not a clue.

He came by today and was very worried and almost crying. He said this rotten cop had teamed up with some city official to file a false demanda accusing him of being caught with a gun. He has no gun but he fears the cop is setting him up to be killed.

The cop told him a warrant would be filed with his ID card and photo that this cop took from him, in the presence of his partners. The cop told him you WILL sell drugs for me or I WILL file the demanda in 8 days (due in a few days).

My friend tells me they can easily shoot or stab him and claim he was involved with drugs or gang activity which got him killed, so he would die an ignominious death on the whim of a crooked cop.

I don't have a clue how to help him. He was shaking and almost crying, left with no options. His sister lives in Guad and will let him stay for short visits but not live with them because they don't have the space.

He has no one to help him and the only way I can see for him out of this is to hire a lawyer and he will wind up paying a big bribe (multa) to the cop to recant and cancel the fake charges. But he will still be beating up my friend and 'insisting' he sell drugs if he remains in his small town.

Having been here long enough to have heard of these outrages, no one I know has actually been embroiled in one of them.

He tells me he has spoken to the commandant but because of his record of a vengeance killing of a cop, his word has no value to any cop or court. It is the crooked cops word against him. I know him and he can barely afford food everyday, let alone a pistol or even bullets for it!

It is not my business or my culture but I feel so sorry for him to be put in this position when he never bothers or hurts anyone. I told him he has only a few more days to decide and move on that decision, else they will find him, throw him in jail, possibly kill him to avoid the paperwork and thats that. He knows this and says he is thinking he'll have to live out in the country, living in a cave, having to hunt for or steal food just to survive.

How can he fight this false warrant and charges if no one will believe him? He has no money, regular income or support system to help him out. In the states there are pro bono attorneys and groups who will help out in such cases but here, I don't have a clue.

Tried to calm him down and make him think clearly.....my suggestions to him;

1) I will ask my lawyer what he would recommend but in the meantime, he must
2) change his cholo look to not stick out so much
3) pack his clothes and move to another town where no one knows him
4) start fresh, stay under the radar until he figures a way to fight this
5) there is the option of a fake ID but the tatoos give him away
6) there is also the option of fighting fire with fight to retrain this crooked cop

Most of these cost money he doesn't have and time he no longer has. He kept saying he only has a few days more so we devised a plan that will spirit him away to find a new life. As I understand it this warrant to date is a threat, maybe just a printout with his ID card and photo to scare him since he knows nothing about such things.

Who knows how deeply involved this cop and others might be with organized drug gangs who think nothing of taking a life, so I'm not in any position to be taking a stance or risking my own life trying to help him out.

No question I feel very sorry for him to be in such a position and I don't see any quick way out of it...so best thing is to buy time and maybe it won't even happen.

Of course we worked out a plan that we both think will save his skin, get him a chance for a new life and possibly it all goes away. I don't know but I will speak with my lawyer and maybe something else will turn up to bail him out of this miserable situation inflicted on him by a corrupt cop and a corrupt city official. If it has even been filed or recorded.

I told him it would so help to have the names of these guys but he doesn't know that...best I can do is help with this plan and front him some money to make it so.

We were very sad to say adios for such idiotic nonsense, but this could be a deadly situation for him, so best to change his life. So unfair...we will maintain contact and I'll see if my honest police friends can find some things out for me, specifically has a warrant been issued for him?

Perhaps there will be no actual warrant and its just a scare tactic...for now, it sucks for my friend who has to leave his house and possessions to save his life.

Count your blessings for your families, friends and honest cops who have better things to do than harass citizens for mischief, pleasure or profit.

This follows what happens in many states in Mexico where drug cartels force farmers to grow drug crops under threat of death, or they STEAL THE LAND, kill the farmer and his family or run them off with NO MONEY PAID for what they took.

The best thing the USA and Mexico could possibly do is learn from Prohibition, legalize drugs and copy Portugals' way of dealing with addictions.

The wars stop INSTANTLY, people can buy recreational drugs at will and pay taxes which will help support treatment centers for addicts. I don't do drugs but I know not everyone becomes an addict, oftimes destroying their lives in the process.

Gave my friend enough money for food, travel and some setup, then we hugged with some tears...so sad..such a good guy, he doesn't deserve this. I told him it might turn out to be a good thing for him, to find another place where he can build his own family and life. Wished him good luck and we will stay in touch. So sad...

A friend of mine told me a story about when he was a kid he was in the hospital & nearly dying. His Italian grandmother came to the hospital & told a family member to go buy her a large onion & a new pair of white cotton socks. She sliced the onion open then put a slice on the bottom of each of his feet & put the white cotton socks on him. In the morning when he awoke they removed the socks. The slices of onion were black & his fever was gone. The following story that someone sent to me might have some truth in it & we are going to try it this winter.

In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million people there was this Doctor that visited the many farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu.. Many of the farmers and their family had contracted it and many died.

The doctor came upon this one farmer and to his surprise, everyone was very healthy. When the doctor asked what the farmer was doing that was different the wife replied that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the rooms of the home, (probably only two rooms back then). The doctor couldn't believe it and asked if he could have one of the onions and place it under the microscope. She gave him one and when he did this, he did find the flu virus in the onion. It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the family healthy.

Now, I heard this story from my hairdresser in AZ. She said that several years ago many of her employees were coming down with the flu and so were many of her customers. The next year she placed several bowls with onions around in her shop. To her surprise, none of her staff got sick. It must work.. (And no, she is not in the onion business.)

The moral of the story is, buy some onions and place them in bowls around your home. If you work at a desk, place one or two in your office or under your desk or even on top somewhere. Try it and see what happens. We did it last year and we never got the flu.

I contracted pneumonia and needless to say I was very ill...I came across an article that said to cut both ends off an onion put one end on a fork and then place the forked end into an empty jar...placing the jar next to the sick patient at night. It said the onion would be black in the morning from the germs...sure enough it happened just like that...the onion was a mess and I began to feel better.

Another thing I read in the article was that onions and garlic placed around the room saved many from the black plague years ago. They have powerful antibacterial, antiseptic properties.

LEFT OVER ONIONS ARE POISONOUS

I have used an onion which has been left in the fridge, and sometimes I don't use a whole one at one time, so save the other half for later. Now with this info, I have changed my mind....will buy smaller onions in the future.

I had the wonderful privilege of touring Mullins Food Products, Makers of mayonnaise. Mullins is huge, and is owned by 11 brothers and sisters in the Mullins family. My friend, Jeanne, is the CEO.

Questions about food poisoning came up, and I wanted to share what I learned from a chemist.

The guy who gave us our tour is named Ed. He's one of the brothers Ed is a chemistry expert and is involved in developing most of the sauce formula. He's even developed sauce formula for McDonald's.

Keep in mind that Ed is a food chemistry whiz. During the tour, someone asked if we really needed to worry about mayonnaise. People are always worried that mayonnaise will spoil. Ed's answer will surprise you. Ed said that all commercially- made Mayo is completely safe.

"It doesn't even have to be refrigerated. No harm in refrigerating it, but it's not really necessary." He explained that the pH in mayonnaise is set at a point that bacteria could not survive in that environment. He then talked about the quaint essential picnic, with the bowl of potato salad sitting on the table and how everyone blames the mayonnaise when someone gets sick.

Ed says that when food poisoning is reported, the first thing the officials look for is when the 'victim' last ate ONIONS and where those onions came from (in the potato salad?). Ed says it's not the mayonnaise (as long as it's not homemade Mayo) that spoils in the outdoors. It's probably the onions, and if not the onions, it's the POTATOES.

He explained, onions are a huge magnet for bacteria, especially uncooked onions. You should never plan to keep a portion of a sliced onion.. He says it's not even safe if you put it in a zip-lock bag and put it in your refrigerator.

It's already contaminated enough just by being cut open and out for a bit, that it can be a danger to you (and doubly watch out for those onions you put in your hotdogs at the baseball park!)

Ed says if you take the leftover onion and cook it like crazy you'll probably be okay, but if you slice that leftover onion and put on your sandwich, you're asking for trouble. Both the onions and the moist potato in a potato salad, will attract and grow bacteria faster than any commercial mayonnaise will even begin to break down.

So, how's that for news? Take it for what you will. I (the author) am going to be very careful about my onions from now on. For some reason, I see a lot of credibility coming from a chemist and a company that produces millions of pounds of mayonnaise every year.'

Also, dogs should never eat onions. Their stomachs cannot metabolize onions. Please remember it is dangerous to cut onions and try to use it to cook the next day, it becomes highly poisonous for even a single night and creates Toxic bacteria which may cause Adverse Stomach infections because of excess Bile secretions and even Food poisoning.

New Mexistims

I now have two versions of the Mexistim. One is the basic version which offers 3 volts DC to the wirescreen, switched at approximately 15 minute intervals and can be powered by batteries or from the included AC/DC adapter.

An American Citizen's Response to 'Americas rich muslim heritage'

Barack OBAMA, during his Cairo speech, said: "I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America's story." This response has been printed all over the internet. I'm not sure where it first originated, although I did try to find out.

Dear Mr. Obama:

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?

Declaration of Independence?

Bill of Rights?

Didn't think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England? No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America? No, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery.

Your own half brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as "pug nosed slaves." Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family's "rich Islamic heritage," doesn't it Mr. Obama?

The letter to Obama goes on reminding the President that there were no Muslims here during the Civil Rights Era and that there are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims standing or walking side-by-side with Martin Luther King, Jr..

It reminds Obama that Muslims were not here during our country's Woman's Suffrage Era and that in the Islamic culture, women remain subservient and are beaten for not wearing the 'hajib' or for talking to men outside the family.

The writer asks where the Muslims were during WWII, then answers that they were aligned with Adolf Hitler.

Then the writer reminds the President that on September 11, 2001, Muslims flew airplanes into the World Trade Center, and the Pentagon, and were stopped by an airplane full of people in Pennsylvania and killed nearly 3,000 people.

He also reminds Obama that afterward, Muslims rejoiced in the Middle East, and that we saw the footage on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other stations. The writer adds:

Strangely, the very "moderate" Muslims whose asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo, Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America. Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates. They were Muslim.

And now we can add November 5, 2009 - the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan.

How many illegal aliens are in the U.S.?

Imagine recovering 10-20 million (or more) jobs for legal citizens which are currently LOST to illegals from all countries - Our illegal immigration numbers are based on an estimated twenty million illegal aliens having been present in our nation as of January 1, 2004.

The Tucson sector Border Patrol union local 2544 on the number of illegal aliens in our nation: "There are currently 15 to 20 million illegal aliens in this country by many estimates, but the real numbers could be much higher and the numbers increase every day because our borders are not secure (no matter what the politicians tell you - don't believe them for a second)".

In agreement with Senator McCain, we believe that an increase of 10,000 total additional illegal aliens added to the United States population each day. This reflects figures that include illegal aliens successfully entering our nation combined with those who overstay their visas. We are of the educated opinion that we are conservatively low in our estimation.

President George W. Bush and then Secretary of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge, used a figure of "8-12 million" illegal aliens in December 2003. Other reports - including one recently released by the Pew Hispanic Center and figures used by the Center for Immigration Studies quoting 10 - 11 million illegal aliens present in the U.S. - rely heavily on U.S. Census data that many, we at TAR included, believe to be incomplete, inaccurate and artificially low.

An independent study of the underground economy released in January 2005 by the Wall Street financial firm Bear Stearns, The Underground Labor Force is Rising to the Surface, produced estimates of 18-20 million illegal aliens present in the United States.

(Estimates vary from 12-15 million legal citizens are unemployed in 2010.)

The Arizona legislation, signed April 23 by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, is similar to Reglamento de la Ley General de Poblacion — the General Law on Population enacted in Mexico in April 2000, which mandates that federal, local and municipal police cooperate with federal immigration authorities in that country in the arrests of illegal immigrants.

Let's adopt Mexico's laws

All of those criticizing Arizona's new anti-immigration law are absolutely correct! It is so unfair! Instead of mimicking existing federal law like it does now, Arizona should enact laws similar to Mexico's. By applying the same standards to illegal immigration as Mexico, Arizona and the U.S. as a whole should:

1. make illegal immigration a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison;

2. deported illegals that re-enter should be imprisoned for 10 years;

3. visa violators sentenced to six years;

4. helping illegal immigrants would be a felony; and

5. deport foreigners who are deemed detrimental to economic or national interests and those who are not "physically or mentally healthy" or lack the "necessary funds for their sustenance" and for their dependents.

I haven't heard a single charge of racism concerning Mexican immigration policy, so logic would follow that (if they are so happy with the immigration laws in their country, they will be equally happy with their own countries laws applied to them as illegal immigrants in the US), then all of the current critics of Arizona's law could be happy. Life is Precious...

Doug Stanhope the comedian does a hilarious routine about old people wanting to live another few years...in the skit, a guy begs people to change his bag or help him get around and thank god he has lived another day...

Stanhope asks WTF FOR? You are useless and a drain on people and the world...so why if you aren't healthy or still together enough to get around and care for yourself, would you EVER want to live more years?

It's totally different if you are able to take care of yourself and DOING SOMETHING with your life...but when I'm in miserable shape, can't do anything and need someone to take care of me, I'm READY TO GO....check this out;

I'm in my mid 50s' so not much longer and I too will be a codger if I'm not already...and older people than I say you'll change your tune as you get older too...but I think not...lots of things I still want to do and I spend my time keeping busy and working on things and having fun when the opportunity presents itself, but it's because I STILL CAN.

I happen to agree with Oprah that we should DIE BROKE. Give most of your possessions and money to your family and friends so they can improve their lives and appreciate you NOW, not after you are dead where you will never know.

Holding onto possessions and wealth just for yourself into old age when you could do so much good with it is just not a moral thing to do in my opinion. Granted I have no real wealth or valuable possessions and it's always people like me urging those with money to give it up...lol....but just think of all the good you could do!

When my health goes to pot and I can't enjoy life or need to be kept alive or relying on someone else, that's when I will pull the plug, move on and let the younger generation have my space and my 'stuff'.

Death will get us all but I'm all for euthanasia and the right to check out when you want to.

I used to know and work with Satch Landrum who was like my step grandad. He knew my family and everyone in town. In his late 60s he started falling apart, couldn't get around so had an artificial hip replacement that hurt him when the weather changed. He used to bitch about it and getting old. Satch said he believed society should just put people out of their misery around 65 years of age, to free up space for the young'uns and make people realize their time was up.

Now I don't agree with forced termination but I think we have the right to decide for ourselves...it just amazes me that someone in horrible shape, who can't do anything or enjoy anything would sit around and whine for MORE YEARS....because...because...well you know...LIFE IS FRIGGIN PRECIOUS!

An Observation

I noticed something about the majority of people who voted for obama. Many of them expected him to bail them out of their problems and set them up for a life of comfort if not luxury.

This reminded me of a little trip some of us took down to San Antonio, Texas years ago. I had a molecular frequency discriminator which claims to resonate with specific elements which you can locate using electrified dowsing rods. There are 11 provided frequencies which included; iron, silver, gold, platinum, ruby, diamond, lead and a few others I don't recall offhand.

In a discussion with friends I mentioned the machine and we tried to figure out somewhere we could go 'treasure hunting' and see if we could find anything.

One in our group knew an old family in San Antonio who had lived there for many years when it was still Mexican territory. The story went that this family had come from Spain, bought a huge tract of land and raised cattle. They were wealthy and held their wealth as family jewels and coins in a small chest.

I don't recall if it was Indians or Texans in the Spanish-American war that stormed the hacienda. Back then they had slaves and one was sent to bury the chest and return with the location of the hidden chest. The slave did bury it and came back wounded but died before he could say where it was.

This hacienda was built at the curve of a river which was now dried up. Later generations had laid down large stones, the size of an early Volkswagon, to bolster the river bank and minimize erosion.

There were three of us in the front of my truck and two in the back with the rear window open so we could communicate. During the drive we all talked then the three in front got quiet and were listening to two of the guys in the back. Both of them were planning to pay off all their bills and invest the rest of their share so they'd not have to work for the rest of their lives. They were quite serious.

It was very amusing because the trip was more of a lark than a well equipped treasure hunt which NEVER has any guarantee of paying off....and yet...and yet...these guys were thinking all their financial problems would be solved once they got their 1/6 share (family plus the five of us).

This is how I think many obama supporters think. That he would bail them out..the problem is he bailed out the wrong people and ignored all the ones who hoped they'd receive a life on easy street.

Oh, and about the treasure...we did get a triangulation which appeared to be under a big boulder. We didn't have the equipment or resources to move it, but showed the family its location if they wanted to dig it out one day and see if anything was actually there...

So we all drove back home, sunburned and some with calloused and bleeding hands from digging.

Disappointed but definitely reinforcing the cliche, 'Don't count your chickens before the eggs hatch.'

From an email I sent out today to various friends;

Today I heard something that just made me drop to the floor laughing.

Went to see a friend who is about 72...though nothing works, he still goes after young ladies in their 20s, for pay of course, hey, it's Mexico!

We were talking about several things, a problem with his computer, sales of his Aztec knives being down, the post office ripping him off almost everytime he ships anything, etc...

Then he mentioned that he had received a call from this 20 something year old girl with whom he had shared carnal knowledge several times..(hey, I'm being POLITE)...

He said she calls him every so often asking if he is ok...in other words, ARE YOU DEAD YET?

I asked him why, did she care for him or something and he said no, he had given her a copy of a fake insurance policy he made up and put her down as beneficiary, then he had it notarized and gave her a copy.

She thinks it is real so she slept with him several times (no charge) thinking when this guy kicks the bucket, I'm gonna get his money and stuff.

So she calls him every now and then to 'see if he is ok'....and check up on her fantasy inheritance.

Man, that is just the sickest but funniest way I think I ever heard for scoring.

I'd imagine if she ever found out she could sue him...well, in the US for sure, where you can sue for just about anything, but here I don't think it would even make it past a police complaint.

Just something funny to pass along to your friends and the cool thing, ITS TRUE!!!

Came across this bizarre tale which reminded me of certain claims in magic where you can repel steel or iron blades;

Saddam, the Immortal

According to an interesting article by Sudarsan Raghavan for Mercury News, many Iraqis believe that Saddam Hussein cannot be killed. It is a belief that has been reinforced by his uncanny ability to survive whatever bombs we drop on him.

He survived (or was allowed to survive, depending on who you listen to) the first Gulf War, slipping through George Bush Sr.'s grip and remaining in power. Then he managed to evade the heavy bombs dropped in the early days of this "War for Iraqi Freedom" when coalition forces had reliable intelligence that he was meeting with his cabinet in a certain government building.

Even now that he has been captured, many Iraqis remain convinced that Saddam is immortal.

What gives him this mystical power? A magic blue stone.

Saddam had this magic stone made, so the story goes, by his favorite fortuneteller not long after he came to power 24 years ago. To be sure the stone was effective, it was tested first with a chicken. The stone was somehow placed inside the chicken, then a soldier fired at it at point-blank range. All of its feathers were blown off, but the protected chicken survived.

So Saddam had the magic stone implanted in the upper section of one of his arms, protecting him from any assault, including bullets and bombs.

"That belief," writes Raghaven in the article, "common throughout Iraq, presents uncommon challenges for U.S. and British forces as they try to persuade Iraqis that Saddam is gone and will not return.

Without a body to display, it may be impossible to overcome the mythical creation of a propaganda apparatus that was bent on showing he was a worthy heir to a long line of Babylonian kings."

An Iraqi army deserter named Adnan Mohammad Yousef told Raghaven that Saddam has seven lives and cannot die. He illustrated that belief with a story about an attempted assassination of Saddam by one of his Republican Guard.

When the soldier pointed the gun at the dictator and pulled the trigger, it jammed. Saddam then allegedly grabbed the gun, pointed it at the soldier, saying, "This is how you do it," and shot him dead.

His capture has shown that Saddam has once again escaped death - magic blue stone or no.

"When an ad hoc team of 5000 people who assembled in just two hours found 10 weather balloons hidden across the US by the Pentagon's research agency earlier this month, it was just another demonstration of the power of crowdsourcing – solving a task by appealing to a large undefined group of web users to each do a small chunk of it.

So far crowdsourcing has been associated with well-meaning altruism, such as the creation and maintenance of Wikipedia or searching for lost aviators. But crowdsourcing of a different flavour has started to emerge. Law enforcement officials in Texas have installed a network of CCTV cameras to monitor key areas along that state's 1900-kilometre-long border with Mexico.

To help screen the footage, a website lets anyone log in to watch a live feed from a border camera and report suspicious activity. A similar system called Internet Eyes, which pays online viewers to spot shoplifters from in-store camera feeds, is set to launch in the UK in 2010.

An Iranian website is offering rewards for identifying people in photos taken during protests over June's elections. Some people have declared those examples chilling. Now Jonathan Zittrain, a Harvard University law professor and co-founder of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, says the next step may be for such efforts to get web users to help out covertly.

In a recent talk, "Minds for Sale", at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California, he pointed out that this could be done right away, using Amazon's Mechanical Turk, a service that provides a platform for anyone to farm out simple tasks.

In a speculative example, Zittrain has calculated that, assuming a population in Iran of around 72 million people, it would cost around $17,000 for the government to use Mechanical Turk to identify any arbitrary person's picture, without the users that are doing it realising the cause they have enlisted in.

The scheme would show "Turkers" a photo of a protest, or just faces extracted from one, along with five randomly chosen photos from the country's ID card database, and asked to say whether or not there is any match. Users would receive a few cents each time they contribute.

Furthermore, Zittrain says that such a task might be made into an addictive game, similar to Google's image labeller. "The people making the identifications in India or the US, idly doing this on their lunch hour instead of Minesweeper, would have no idea of the implications of what they are doing," Zittrain said in the talk. "I think people ought to know how their work is being used," he told New Scientist.

The Clem Engine Reborn!

Back in the mid-1970s’, gifted inventor Richard Clem was working for the city of Dallas, operating heavy equipment when he noticed that a heated asphalt sprayer for paving streets would continue running for many minutes after the gas engine was turned off. This aroused his natural curiosity and from this, he designed and built a closed system engine that was purported to generate 350 HP and run itself. The engine weighed about 200 pounds and ran on cooking oil at temperatures of 300 F.. As the years have passed, we have accumulated slightly more information, such as the fact that he first tried engine oil but found it would break down too soon due to the high heat produced by the engine, so he used Mazola cooking oil which would operate over many months at the requisite +300 degrees F.. Roughly four years have passed with no new information coming in about the Clem engine until around Halloween of 2009.

Two introductory emails followed by a phone call from Jim Ray, President of Micro-Combustion, Inc., we have since exchanged many emails and he sent me about 25 documents of his company’s work with what he personally knew of working with Richard Clem and his famous engine and how he had taken it much further, building several working models, which were tested and validated by NASA and by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

It was in 2005 that a NASA scientist and Jim Ray saw on the Internet the picture of the actual first engine and noticed it had a double chamber. As the president of Micro-Combustion he then figured out how to build this engine with the double chamber, but did not have sufficient funds or shop capability to complete or rebuild this design, instead concentrating on the physics and chemistry of the original engine.

Richard had claimed that it was perpetual motion but since there is no such thing Jim felt there was some unknown factor in the equation of the Laws of Physics. The company has now postulated a theory complying with these equations and Laws of Physics as to what made Richard’s engine run without air induction and/or combustion of any given amount or type of fuel.

Micro-Combustion, Inc. was formed in 1997 and privately funded to continue research on the engine, it has produced several hundred prototype versions that have resulted in an excellent understanding of what has now been identified as Cavitation Ignition Bubble Combustion (CIBC), and hence the likely ability to take this breakthrough technology to commercialization.

“The Cavitation-Ignition Bubble Combustion (CIBC) engine is a new discovery in green energy technology that holds the potential to replace fossil fuel altogether. The basic idea behind this new engine is simple but revolutionary:

Although the CIBC engine can operate on petroleum-based fuels, they are not required. Its ability to operate on alternative liquid fuels holds the potential, if fully realized, to transform the transportation sector by reducing or eliminating our nation’s reliance on domestic or imported petroleum-based fuels.”

Imagine an engine the size of a basketball running your car, truck, boat, etc.. When such an engine is available and in use worldwide, what then of solar, wind, wave and other, in comparison, primitive forms of energy collection?

From Jeffrey Sokol - George Wiseman and I have been speaking daily about WFC invention a retired physicist friend of mine produced. He is in AZ, and says he can run a 3.6 kw generator with his HHO fuel cell design, at a full load, with only 10% of the power created by the generator.

George asked me to make contact with you so we can get the information out there together, and we must act quickly. I'll be selling the information on how to replicate the design online...

My friend in AZ says that his cells are stackable, so they can be fitted to larger generators to power homes like 17 kw or even 100 kw with enough cells. Oh, by the way, the cells only use distilled water, and usually zero electrolyte. The past times he's used tap water, it's had way too much electrolyte for the cell.

The cells don't get above 88 degrees. He has all the notes and photos to make a complete packet of information. /

The cell is a 12.5 volt design, to be used anywhere. What makes it so amazing, is that the inventor, Dr. Steven Eaton, has designed it so that physics work with the cell, instead of against it. The cell is incredibly efficient, able to produce approximately 5 liters per minute, with less than 15 amps, with absolutely ZERO electrolyte.

The cell in previous testing has not reached over 88 degrees. Previous models were completed, producing 2 lpm with 10 amps each. 3 of those units were fitted to run a 3.55 kw Troy Bilt Generator. The generator ran 100% on 6 LPM of HHO gas, which was produced by the Troy Bilt Generator itself, and ran light bulbs and other shop devices.

The only thing that bogged it down was a large bench grinder drawing 4.9 amps on top of the 200 watts being taken from 2 light bulbs. The key here, is that electricity was being produced with 100% water for fuel technology, no gasoline or any other fossil fuels. The Troy Bilt generated enough power off of HHO gas, to operate the HHO cells, and provide extra power for small household items.

This newest design will be finished and tested very soon... Dr. Eaton has designed it to be even more efficient than it’s predecessors. The frozen bunny corpses are transported to a heating plant in central Sweden, where they're incinerated to heat homes.

"Those who support the culling of rabbits think it's good to use the bodies for a good cause," said Anna Johanneson of the Society for the Protection of Wild Rabbits.

"But it feels like the power company is trying to turn the animals into an industry rather than look at the main problem,"

Officials target the rabbits to stem the damage done from their feasting on the parks' plants. Last year, 6,000 rabbits were killed, the paper reported.

Overloading the System to Destruction

Katman sent me this link to photos of the tea party rally in Washington and in one of the photos was a sign mentioning the Cloward Piven Strategy. I'd never heard of this so did a search and was astounded at what I found. It sure looks like the beginning of what is to come if we can't get it together on a grassroots level.

/ ...the "Cloward-Piven Strategy" seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse. In their 1966 article, Cloward and Piven charged that the ruling classes used welfare to weaken the poor; that by providing a social safety net, the rich doused the fires of rebellion.

Poor people can advance only when "the rest of society is afraid of them," Cloward told The New York Times on September 27, 1970. Rather than placating the poor with government hand-outs, wrote Cloward and Piven, activists should work to sabotage and destroy the welfare system; the collapse of the welfare state would ignite a political and financial crisis that would rock the nation; poor people would rise in revolt; only then would "the rest of society" accept their demands.

The key to sparking this rebellion would be to expose the inadequacy of the welfare state. Most Americans to this day have never heard of Cloward and Piven. But New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani attempted to expose them in the late 1990s.

As his drive for welfare reform gained momentum, Giuliani accused the militant scholars by name, citing their 1966 manifesto as evidence that they had engaged in deliberate economic sabotage. "This wasn't an accident," Giuliani charged in a 1997 speech. "It wasn't an atmospheric thing, it wasn't supernatural. This is the result of policies and programs designed to have the maximum number of people get on welfare."

Cloward and Piven never again revealed their intentions as candidly as they had in their 1966 article. Even so, their activism in subsequent years continued to rely on the tactic of overloading the system. When the public caught on to their welfare scheme, Cloward and Piven simply moved on, applying pressure to other sectors of the bureaucracy, wherever they detected weakness.

This was an example of what are commonly called Trojan Horse movements -- mass movements whose outward purpose seems to be providing material help to the downtrodden, but whose real objective is to draft poor people into service as revolutionary foot soldiers; to mobilize poor people en masse to overwhelm government agencies with a flood of demands beyond the capacity of those agencies to meet.

The flood of demands was calculated to break the budget, jam the bureaucratic gears into gridlock, and bring the system crashing down. Magnetics as the Future of Propulsion?

I wish this theorist would build a small prototype to show his ideas as feasible. Imagine the intensity of magnetic fields needed for the kind of propulsion he describes, based on the field strength of earths magnetic field as we currently know it.

"Advanced Magnetic Propulsion Systems - Firstly I need to explain scientific foundations behind two most basic terms used in research on propelling devices. These two terms describe two basic kinds of propelling devices, namely the so-called "motors" and the so-called "propulsors".

Motors produce only a relative motion of one group of parts of a given machine, in relationship to other group of parts of the same machine. This means that motors are practically unable to produce the absolute motion of entire objects in relationship to the environment of these object, although they frequently provide mechanical motion that is later used to create such an absolute motion.

As an example consider a car, in which the engine is a typical "motor". Everyone knows that the engine from a car DOES NOT produce the motion of the entire car along a road - but these are wheels which produce this motion. The engine from a car supplies only the mechanical energy to wheels. So a car is a machine which contains both, a single motor (i.e. the car's engine) which causes the relative rotation of wheels in relationship to the car's body, and four propulsors (i.e. four wheels) which produce absolute motion of the car along the road. Similarly is with a boat.

A "motor" in a boat only reassures the relative rotation of propeller, while the absolute motion of the entire boat is formed by this propeller, not by the motor.

Devices which produce an absolute motion of entire vehicles in the surrounding environment are called propulsors. Examples of propulsors include: a propeller in an aeroplane, helicopter blades, jet engine, rocket engine, hovercraft outlets, wheels, propeller in a boat, and many more. Notice that propulsors must be distinguished from so-called linear motors.

For example railway locomotive is just simply a linear motor, not a propulsor. This is because propulsors produce an absolute motion in the natural environment. In turn linear motors produce only a relative motion in relationship to one of their part (e.g. a "rail") that is extended at large distance."

Humanely kill a Mouse or...

Noticed a mouse skittering across the floor...the little bastard doesn't seem to be afraid of light or me until I move and my idiot dog is not the least bit curious about catching it. I like animals and cats but don't want to borrow a cat just to catch the little bugger.

I suspect this one came up through my laundry drain and fear it might hatch mouslings, so best to catch and kill it than let it free...guess I could haul it out to the country since there is plenty of farmland near where I live.

Last time this happened I tried a few of the old spring traps baited with various foods but it took almost two weeks to catch it...this time a lady told me to use the black glue strip so I bought two-a-pack RAID strips, biggest they had for $3.20 here.

Had read mice like peanut butter much better than cheese, so put a dab of chunky peanut butter in the middle of one strip and two small chunks of cheese in the middle of the other strip. Laid them down where I'd seen the mouse traffic and sat down to watch CSI. Not 5 minutes later, I hear this squealing and find the mouse stuck on the peanut butter glue strip.

Put it in a quart plastic mayonnaise jar and poked a hole in it so I can decide whether to kill it or let it go. Looked on the net to see how others deal with killing them and found mostly stupid stuff...but killing seemed best done rapidly, like smashing a brick on its head...was thinking of putting it in a baggie and crushing its head with a brick but on second thought, I don't want to kill any warm blooded critter even it if it is a pest (unless I absolutely HAVE to).

At the beginning of this, that was my intent, smash the head of the mouse quickly, but since there is so much farmland that I drive through daily, heck, just toss it into a field and let it find it's own destiny. Let him hop around in his little bottle tonight and manana I will let him loose in a field of corn. Geez, I'm turning Buddhist!

Intelligent Matter and An Argument for a Creator

Professor Angus MacVicar was a major inspiration for John Keely and the many fantastic claims of discovery he made based on some of MacVicars' ideas.

One of the phenomena claimed to have been witnessed when Keely carried out demonstrations was that his machines would not work without him being present. He claimed each machine was tuned to his body so they would only work in his presence. Sounds like a conman doesn't it?

One report described a demonstration where Keely had just finished a test of one of his tuned devices and it worked without flaw. An assistant then tried to run the machine, copying every step Keely had just done and yet the machine failed to start or run. Keely placed his hand on the shoulder of the assistant and said try again. The man again tried to start the machine and this time it ran perfectly.

I've always thought matter is intelligent to various degrees depending on size, age and other factors. American Indians speak of Power Stones which are supposed to have remarkable abilities. Everyone has a power stone waiting for them somewhere in the world and if you find it, your life will change remarkably. Some very strange stories that include telekinesis, teleportation, punishment, healing, etc.. surround the Power Stone legends.

Additionally, there are the 'Noid's', a modern day invention based on dynamic electrical memories where incredibly fast changes, adaptations and mutations occur within the device. Years ago there was the Spirit Heart device which tuned itself to the user, like a Power Stone and from that point watched over its owner. Very weird stuff and there is a short report in an old KeelyNet page;

Courtesy of Bradley W. Scott - in email discussions, I mentioned the SkyHeart device, claimed to be a unique form of AI that mimics its owner once programmed. It is supposed to develop a 'heartbeat' in the form of a pulsing blue LED and has all kinds of bizarre anecdotes associated with the operation of the units. Despite the $3000 price of the SkyHeart, the idea of an electrostatic matrix used to dynamically map a persons biopatterns intrigues me. That is how Bradley and I got onto the subject. I will eventually transcribe the SkyHeart audio to text. These new interactive AI devices are called 'noids'. On checking out the Neutronics site, I am uncomfortable with them NOT posting the price of their hardware and imposing confidentiality agreements with purchases.

Another correlation is the Indian Manitou, where every object has its own spirit/intelligence. A few months ago I found a copy of a 20-30 year old scifi/terror movie called 'The Manitou' which describes this and depicts a struggle between old forces of earth, air, fire, water, trees, plants, etc...versus modern devices such as cars, computers, appliances, etc.. The shaman had to appeal to the spirit/intelligence/manitou of each of these devices to combine their forces in a war of power. Fascinating.

Here is the MacVicar comment I wanted to post;

NASA - stuck on rockets

The answer is simple...quit worrying about going into deep space, the moon, Mars or other planets. They look like a Chinese firedrill trying to plan for off world projects but still using childrens toys as the propulsion and energy systems.

Instead, FOCUS all space related efforts here on earth to discover new propulsion, new energy and life sustaining techniques.

It's clear that many discoveries and inventions related to our space efforts have filtered down to the private and consumer sector to make our lives better.

Now if NASA used what talent they have to come up with new propulsion and new energy, it would directly affect our dependence on oil and the introduction of efficient electrical or other energy and transport technologies.

NASA's moon plan too ambitious - "A panel reviewing NASA's current plans for human space flight will report that there is no realistic way to return to the moon by 2020 -- or even 2028.

The final list of options being explored by the Augustine group will include some variation of a lunar base down the road. But the committee is most animated by what it calls the ``Deep Space'' option, a strategy that emphasizes getting astronauts far beyond Low Earth Orbit but not necessarily plunking them down on alien worlds.

Instead, the ``Deep Space'' strategy would send them to near-Earth asteroids and to gravitationally significant points in space, known as Lagrange points, that are beyond the Earth's protective magnetosphere. Astronauts might even go all the way to Phobos, a tiny moon of Mars, where the spaceship wouldn't land so much as rendezvous, in the same way that a spacecraft docks at the International Space Station.

The Earth's moon would be a possible ``off-ramp'' of such a strategy but not a central target for exploration. Putting astronauts on the surface of Mars, and then returning them to Earth, would be prohibitively expensive, according to an analysis by the committee, which will send its report to the president by the end of this month."

Just think how much research and development could be accomplished with all the money NASA pisses away every year, but devote it to energy and new propulsion. NASA gets a bit over 17 BILLION dollars for its yearly budget.

We need to get away from primitive rockets and discover how to control gravity or use field forces to propel our spacecraft and other transport methods.

Space panel considers alternatives to NASA's plan for moon base - "Instead of trying to set up permanent moon base as Constellation envisioned, Crawley called for a phased exploration program starting with flybys and scouting missions, building up to longer visits and eventual bases.

That, he said, is more affordable and achievable.

When Constellation was conceived in 2005, NASA envisioned spending about $100 billion to return to the moon by 2020. But the program has been squeezed by congressional budget cuts, cost overruns and technical hurdles.

"It is unclear whether NASA has the funding for any scenarios that do anything important beyond low-Earth orbit prior to 2020," said Christopher Chyba, a panel member who is professor of astrophysical sciences and international affairs at Princeton University.

So the panel is trying to devise scenarios that could work with roughly $80 billion, although no price tags were put on the alternatives discussed on Thursday.

But even ideas the panel seems to support -- like extending the space station's life by about five years until 2020, or flying the shuttle into 2012 or beyond -- cost billions that NASA doesn't have.

"NASA has a chronic problem: it does not have the budget to develop new systems and operate existing ones," Chyba said."

6 Months to Live - NOT!

Now this totally sucks and is an excellent reason for getting 2nd and even 3rd opinions from terminal or questionable diagnosis. I feel for this guy and his family...who wouldn't prepare for death and splurge to enjoy what little time they have...then be told, woops, just kidding or sorry, we made a mistake!

Man given six months to live discovers tumour is harmless abscess - "Phil Collins, 61, quit his job, planned his own funeral and blew £18,000 from a pension pay-out after being told he had inoperable gallbladder and liver cancer.

He fulfilled a lifelong dream of buying a Triumph motorbike, bought wife Isabel a car and made financial arrangements to ensure she was secure after his death.

But when the six month deadline passed he went back to hospital - where further checks revealed the growth on his liver was in fact an abscess.

However, Mr Collins claims that complications from the cocktail of cancer drugs he was prescribed have ruined his health and he is now planning a legal bid for compensation.

He said: "I was a fit man and I was a keen motorcyclist. I still had a lot of working life left in me.

"Now I cannot do anything. I am an absolute wreck. I feel I am just generally shutting down.

The Sinking of America via Socialism

When "Silent Cal" Coolidge went home in 1929, the U.S. government was spending 3 percent of gross domestic product.

And today? Obama's first budget will consume 28 percent of the entire GDP; state and local governments another 15 percent. While there is some overlap, in 2009, government will consume 40 percent of GDP, approaching the peak of World War II.

Obama plans to repeal the Bush tax cuts and take the income tax rate to near 40 percent. Combined state and local income tax rates can run to 10 percent. For the self-employed, payroll taxes add up to 15.2 percent on the first $106,800 for all wages of all workers. Medicare takes 2.9 percent of all wages above that. Then there are the state sales taxes that can run to 8 percent, property taxes, gas taxes, excise taxes and "sin taxes" on booze, cigarettes and, soon, hot dogs and soft drinks.

Comes now national health insurance from Nancy Pelosi's House. A surtax that runs to 5.4 percent of all earnings of the top 1 percent of Americans, who already pay 40 percent of all federal income taxes, has been sent to the Senate. Included also is an 8 percent tax on the entire payroll of small businesses that fail to provide health insurance for employees.

The D.C.-based Tax Foundation says New Yorkers could face a combined income tax rate of near 60 percent.

In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson called George III a tyrant for having "erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people and eat out their substance."

What did George III do with his Stamp Act, Townshend Acts or tea tax to compare with what is being done to this generation of Americans by their own government?

While the hardest-working and most productive are bled, a third of all wage-earners pay no U.S. income tax, and Obama plans to free almost half of all wage-earners of all income taxes. Yet, tens of millions get Medicaid, rent supplements, free education, food stamps, welfare and an annual check from Uncle Sam called an Earned Income Tax Credit, though they never paid a nickel in income taxes..." - Source

CBO: Federal budget is on unsustainable path... - "Under current law, the federal budget is on an unsustainable path, because federal debt will continue to grow much faster than the economy over the long run.

Although great uncertainty surrounds long-term fiscal projections, rising costs for health care and the aging of the population will cause federal spending to increase rapidly under any plausible scenario for current law.

Unless revenues increase just as rapidly, the rise in spending will produce growing budget deficits. Large budget deficits would reduce national saving, leading to more borrowing from abroad and less domestic investment, which in turn would depress economic growth in the United States.

Original Moon tapes Erased, how convenient!

Come ON...the amazing things you can do with video these days make it a walk in the park to put whatever they want on the new tapes, especially even if remastered digitally. Wonder how much Spielberg and Pixar got to help NASA do this?

With the originals, it would have been hard to hide imperfections easily discovered with modern technology to show how much of the lunar landings and space program were faked to build national prize as the first there.

"The original recordings of the first humans landing on the moon 40 years ago were erased and re-used, but newly restored copies of the original broadcast look even better, NASA officials said on Thursday.

NASA released the first glimpses of a complete digital make-over of the original landing footage that clarifies the blurry and grainy images of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walking on the surface of the moon.

NASA admitted in 2006 that no one could find the original video recordings of the July 20, 1969, landing.

The bad news is they were part of a batch of 200,000 tapes that were degaussed

-- magnetically erased -- and re-used to save money.

"The goal was live TV," Nafzger told a news conference.

"We should have had a historian running around saying 'I don't care if you are ever going to use them -- we are going to keep them'," he said.

They found good copies in the archives of CBS news and some recordings called kinescopes found in film vaults at Johnson Space Centre.

Nafzger does not worry that using a Hollywood-based company might fuel the fire of conspiracy theorists who believe the entire lunar program that landed people on the moon six times between 1969 and 1972 was staged on a movie set or secret military base.

"This company is restoring historic video. It mattered not to me where the company was from," Nafzger said.

"A 52-year-old Milwaukee-area man has been accused of faking heart attacks to avoid paying restaurant bills and cab fares.

Police say the Waukesha man took a cab to a mall Monday and pretended to have a heart attack. The cab driver left unpaid. Authorities say the man then ran up a $23 bill when he had a steak dinner at Applebee’s. He again pretended to have a heart attack.

This time the fire department took him to a hospital. A doctor there recognized the man as having pulled the same stunt in the past few weeks.

He was charged Thursday with defrauding a restaurant as a habitual criminal. He could get up to nine months in prison and a $10,000 fine."

A few years back there was a news report of mischievous teenagers roaming the streets of London looking for older people.

They would remove their shirts and superglue them high up the walls of buildings. Saw another use for superglue mischief in this article;

"A trip to the little boys room ended in disaster after a man became super-glued to a public toilet. A practical joke left the 35-year-old man helpless and unable to remove himself from the loo.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and did their best to un-stick the man, but even their efforts were not enough to set him free.

The toilet was then removed from the public cubicle near Dudley in the West Midlands, with the man still attached.

A paramedic said: “The man was using the facilities when he became stuck on the seat. It appears as though someone had left glue on it.”

Once at the hospital, doctors loosened the grip and freed the man using special chemicals, while still inside the ambulance. The flustered man was not injured but highly embarrassed after the incident."

Would be great to catch the perpetrator(s) and subject them to the same treatment to see if its so funny to them.

Odd statement about highly insured concert for Jackson at Family wants 2nd autopsy.

How convenient and smart to cover themselves so well knowing Jacksons reputation for flakiness.

If they collect from multiple policies, I wonder how much more they would get than if Jackson had lived and completed the tour? Hmmm....

And now we learn the sole attending doctor, the one who gave him that final shot that intermixed with all the other drugs in Jacksons body, had serious financial problems as well as a questionable history. Again, hmmm...

I'm a fan of Jackson and sad for his untimely death under such peculiar circumstances.

On a side note, I have always wondered about why he felt the need to become white.

Claiming he was afflicted with vitiligo which is a non-contagious condition where the melanocytes do not function correctly and patches of light colored skin appear on various areas of the body.

Research has shown it to sometimes be linked to an autoimmune disorder and that it may be inherited. Although not considered life threatening, it can, of course, be very troubling for the person who has it.

Though it is more likely he simply bleached his skin to lighten it. Notice he is never shown without a long sleeve, mostly high-necked shirt, long pants and socks. All we see is his hands and face which are remarkably white, possibly makeup as well as skin bleaching.

Wonder if he bleached his entire body for a pinto or mottled effect or just left the body alone and only did the face and hands, which might explain why he always is seen fully clothed.

Maybe someone can sneak a photo of the body...just curious why he would put himself through that, not being able to go swimming in public or go out in shorts or without a shirt like most people do.

Wonder why things are so high these days and always going up? Part of it is because of scammers who figure out and use ways to rip off businesses and innocent people who are just trying to make a living. Here is the first in a series of despicable scammer tricks;

Market Ripoff Scam

You can eat cheaply by visiting the butcher section of the local supermarket and order two pounds of jumbo shrimp at $14.99 per pound and two pounds of beef by-products (for the dog, of course) at 79¢ per pound. Both of the packages are wrapped in white butcher paper with price stickers on them.

Switch the labels and ditch the beef by-products behind some frozen TV dinners. When you pay for your shrimp, you are charged for the beef by-products on the price sticker. This is one way to enjoy choice cuts of meat and other expensive butcher items as very cheap prices.

Note: Watch out for cameras in the ceiling of the supermarket, as well as employees moving around through the store. If you are caught peeling the labels off, just say you were checking the freshness of the meat and you accidentally put the labels back on the wrong package.

You can also try the following: A girl-friend baked a birthday cake for a surprise party thrown for me and it turned out perfectly. It was honestly delicious and everyone loved it, but for some reason the baker was totally dissatisfied with the way the cake turned out.

Whatever the reason, I was impressed with her actions. She took the empty packages--boxes, icing, etc. -- back to the store with her receipt. The key thing that she brought back to the store, however, was the carton of milk used to make the cake.

Although the milk was fresh, she poured a little lime juice into it, which gave it a rotten odor and curdled it. She took all of the cake ingredients to a store manager, had him smell the milk and demanded a refund. She told him that everyone who had eaten the cake suffered food poisoning and that the party had been ruined.

The manager was apologetic and he not only refunded all the cake mix ingredients, but he gave her a $150 gift certificate for purchasing other groceries. This scam can be worked with many different kinds of food in the market.

For the past year or so I've been getting all these facebook invites. I had not signed up since I am wary of 'social networking' which seems to be an activity for the lamers and losers totally willing to give up all their personal info and engage in ceaseless idiotic postings.

However, some of my family wanted me to join, so I did...it was everything I thought it would be...ergo, JUNK...sure, lots of contacts but damn, so invasive and the service trolls you endlessly with apps using the guise of 'sharing' to get you to provide more and more private information....uh-uh...not good...who is really behind Facebook that they would want so much information on so many people?

Today, this article appeared to bolster my own concerns.

My sister and I both decided we could live very well without Facebook and its ilk so I had put in a deletion request about 4 days ago...the note I got from them said 14 days to delete your account and ALL its information and says if you log back in, the request for deletion will be cancelled. Thats how desparate they are to keep people hooked into their network...no thanks...

I'll stick with emails directed just to the people I wish to communicate with and not splayed out for all the world to see.

It's your body, your life, if you choose to kill yourself by overdoing drugs, drinking, sex, whatever or are so sick with no hope of recovery, then its not a question of rights since its YOUR BODY to do with as you please.

I've had several friends die in terrible agony, begging to be taken off life support so they can move on, but no, they were doped up and kept alive in their bedridden horror until their body just gives out.

I used have an old friend named Satch Landrum...in his late 60s he was falling apart physically and had to have a knee and hip operation just to get around. He often said he thought people should just be put to sleep at 65 as they were pretty much useless after that. I didn't agree, but I do agree it should be an option if you feel that way. That means asking for assistance if you can't do it yourself.

To my view, if you are just taking up space and not doing anything with your life, then you should get the heck out of it, quit wasting resources without benefitting yourself by learning or doing things or helping others, and just fade on out.

Why do people who are horribly crippled or so old and feeble that they can't do anything, want to live for decades more? What is the point if you can't enjoy it.

Keep in mind, its not about QUANTITY, but QUALITY that counts.

For myself, when I start falling to pieces or become so crippled or infirm that I am a drain on society, you can bet your butt I'll take care of my own incapacity. Probabely with something like this the Redneck Kevorkian.

Granted there are many other ways to take ones life and many say you will probably change your mind when you reach that point, but I don't think so if I know there is no hope of improvement for my condition, whatever it might be. So if I am found dead one day, after some illness or accident, don't look for any murderer or start any bullshit conspiracy story...I did it myself.

The Stupidest Fix ever told to me

For some 25 years, I was in charge of Technical Support for 3 companies. During that time, I and my techs were responsible for keeping everything running. Installing, repairing and maintaining all equipment and machinery to keep production online.

After that, I worked for a couple of years doing technical phone support where I never met so many stupid callers. They wouldn't listen and preferred to rail against our product. I would tell them just listen, do as I tell you and your problem will be resolved. No telling how many times I heard people say they were university professors or professional engineers who had worked with and built computers for 10-30 years, and yet these assholes called ME to help them.

But they didn't want to listen to any advice so WTF call? Finally they would listen and when they did as I instructed them, the device worked as it was supposed to, they would slam the phone down rather than admitting their call fixed the machine and god forbid they would ever thank me.

Not everyone was like that, but I'd estimate 30% at least...so give customer service agents a break, especially when its a technical issue....most of them really are just trying to help you solve your problem.

The company I worked for farmed out their techs to work on various accounts for big companies. You think you are talking to one of their people but the fact is they are outsourced but at least it was in the USA.

So during my time there, I worked on 3 different accounts....the one where I got this stupidest fix call was for smart UPS (uninterruptible power supplies) that used software to control a UPS.

Some tech working for a small company had installed our smart UPS's on about 15 of their machines...but he didn't follow the directions so every single one of the UPS's had a red error light that was telling you there was a problem with the UPS.

Now he called for another problem and we resolved that but I asked him to describe which LEDs were on and thats when I found the red LED error condition. Now I'm on the phone with this guy and tell him that red LED must be off or the purpose of the UPS would be negated entirely.

After maybe 3 minutes trying to get him to reinstall it under my direction, I hear a banging sound and he has taken the cover off the UPS...I ask him what he was doing and he said he had fixed the problem...???

I ask him what he did to resolve it without reinstalling and he said he just CLIPPED THE WIRES to the LED! I told him that fixed nothing and the first time they had electrical problems or failure, this UPS would not kick in to protect the computer.

The guy is clearly a cocky little SOB so tells me thanks for the help, now he is going to go clip the wires on all the other UPSs because he didn't want to have to reinstall the software, then he hangs up.

I tell my supervisor and make note of this in the call log in case they do call back when everything fails...but I never forgot how lazy and stupid this guy was...

Car company sloppiness catching up to them

The car companies have screwed around for many decades now dragging their feet on developing fuel efficient cars and trucks. So it's finally caught up with them thanks to competition from other countries.

But I think we all suspect the government and oil companies have miraculous technologies that are locked away as national security threats that could hurt the oil industry.

Wouldn't it be great if the politicos forced the release of these hidden technologies, at least phasing them in over time so as not to disrupt existing systems...give them time to integrate or shift to the new technologies?

I detest surveillance to track people but it seems to be a part of modern life. Like many, I use cameras and motion detection software to protect my home. But this GPS tracking seems to be way too invasive. But it invites jammers and methods to kill or redirect the signals. Interesting how cellphone signal killers are more and more available.

"A Wisconsin appeals court ruled Thursday that police can attach GPS trackers to cars to secretly track anybody's movements without obtaining search warrants. As the law currently stands, the court said police can mount GPS on cars to track people without violating their constitutional rights — even if the drivers aren't suspects. I think it interesting that various world leaders who have been around awhile, can see through all the media hype and sheer smoke of Obama accomplishing nothing but photo opps and yet so many US citizens still can't see it. Here are excerpts by Castro;

I am really pissed off that the government (and the media) are trying to spin the intent of the Tea Parties by implying that participants are nutjobs and terrorists. This is not how the USA works. Some of the protests were denied or disrupted for lack of 'permits'...what ever happened to free speech?

News items where the White House says they were 'unaware' of the Tea Parties or that they are 'amused' by these people...amused?

How patronizing to treat the citizens of the USA as if their opinions and concerns are of NO IMPORT to those we elected to government office TO SERVE US.

Then they go after Rick Santelli for stirring all this up, saying he had not read up on the subject and inviting him to the White House (to try to shut him up) to which he responds;

I like Janeane Garofalo, but unless she was joking, she really showed her ass in this recent statement Liberal actress says tea parties were racist.

Maybe she was on drugs because it was the most idiotic thing I've read in months.

These are subject to modification, change or deletion at my personal whim.

It seems to me there are very clear solutions to a number of issues the USA and other countries are dealing with;

Problem #1: The Drug War in Mexico and the USA

My Solution: Legalize drugs and the wars stop since you would then be able to buy them anywhere. Drug use is a personal thing which the government has no business meddling with. Follow the basic law of Huna...'Hurt No One' which I modified long ago to 'Hurt no one with Intent'. As long as you hurt no one and damage no one else's property, then you can do as you wish. If you choose to destroy your body and mind, it is your choice and the world will be a better place as the abusers die off. Prisons will be cleared out for all drug cases and keep in mind it costs approximately $40,000 per year to keep a person in jail. The money saved from prison costs in addition to the taxes paid on legal drug sales will bring in huge amounts of money as well as quench all drug dealing competition since anything can be bought legally and taxed.

Problem #2: The current 'Pirate' Problem

My Solution: All ships have radios. As one guy suggested on a radio talk show, send in one or two US aircraft carriers with F16 fighter planes. When a ship is under attack, a call is made to the carrier, an F16 is deployed to assess the situation. As with the Universal Policeman robot Gort from 'The Day the Earth Stood Still', the attacking ships will simply be blown out of the water. No capture, no sympathy, just wipe them out as marauding attackers. In time, the pirates will be so decimated or too scared of fatal retribution to try anything, the problem will be resolved.

Problem #3: Bailouts by government

My Solution: LET ALL FAILED/FAILING BUSINESSES GO BANKRUPT, no matter the size. The beauty of capitalism is it is self-correcting, sometimes painful but it will correct. Failed companies will be bought out and restructured or others will take their place. The government does not have the right or the business to bailout anyone using our money.

Problem #4: The US in other countries

My Solution: Let them stand or fall on their own without our interference. Close the overseas bases, bring all our troops home and use the troops to reinforce our borders and help out in national disasters (weather induced) until we get a working immigration policy.

Problem #5: The continuing Immigration problem

My Solution: Tag all foreigners legally entering the USA as visitors with GPS or RFID implants or special bracelets/collars. Not only can we track their movements but we can find them when their time is up to insure they leave per the entry/exit permits. For illegal immigrants, punish the employers and require all employers to use E-Verify as protection for their business. When people are here illegally and can't get a job, they have no choice but to return to their own country until they can re-enter legally. Other countries do NOT TOLERATE illegals and import them instantly when found out, so why should the US.

Problem #6: What about Illegal immigrants who have lived many years in the US?

My Solution: If they have been here illegally over a year and have investments in the form of homes, US registered vehicles, long term employment, etc. give them one year to apply for citizenship, legal social security numbers and another year to gain them. If they choose NOT to follow our laws, then they must leave no matter their investment gained illegally. Those illegals without vested assets are to be deported asap. And for all immigrants, the USA is an English speaking nation, all government documents and correspondence are to be in English and never offered in other languages. Immigrants must be required to learn English and understand they are now Americans, loyal to their new country.

Problem #7: Nation Building and Interference in other countries

My Solution: It is not the purpose or function of the US government to build or rebuild any nation. Nor is it our business to invade any other country unless they directly attack our shores.

Problem #8: Adhere to the Constitution

My Solution: More like Ron Pauls' solution, return to the Constitution. All government employees and servants have sworn to follow the constitution and when they do not, they should be held liable and fired from their jobs. Stop the Terrorist propaganda, restore our lost or diminished rights STOLEN by the Homeland Security paranoia. Allow easy and gestapo-less travel for US citizens within and without our country. Note that more people are killed in car accidents, from cancer and other illnesses than were EVER killed by the terrorist paranoia. If such attacks happen on our soil and clear culprits identified, then we deal with it on a case by case basis. Not chastising all citizens and inducing an endless state of paranoia around every corner. Return the USA to pre-911 freedoms and terminate the new big business of Homeland Security with its associated evils and restrictions for personal rights and liberties.

Problem #9: Return to Personal Responsibility

My Solution: Due to idiotic liability laws, the country has turned into a nation of whiners and blamers. No one is accountable for their actions or failures. Instead they blame everyone else and try to sue to compensate for their failures. People think what can I get out of this when something happens to them, instead of how they can fix it for themselves. In most cases, we create our own hell and miseries. It is part of the life process to learn and grow from our failures, but not if we are encouraged and allowed to blame others and hold them responsible. That also goes for this weird sense of entitlement where people think they are OWED something by the government or by others. You are entitled to NOTHING. See the Bill of NO RIGHTS for further clarification.

Problem #10: Accountability

My Solution: Leaders, both political and in business should be held strictly responsible for their actions (as should we all) if those actions violate laws. Why should they get away with it just because they are high profile? The simple fact that politicians and government servants swear to uphold and follow the constitution, yet when in office, violate that oath, makes them criminals and they should be punished for intentionally violating a sworn oath.

Nicotine as a cure for various illnesses

Years ago, when I was a teenager working as a carhop, I burned my thumb and it hurt like hell. The wife of the boss didn't have any medicine handy but said she would use something her grandmother used on them.

She took a piece of regular paper, wadded it up and burned it in a coffee dish. When it was completely burned, she blew the ashes away and there remained an oily brown residue. She rubbed this on my thumb and the pain stopped a few minutes later and it healed up with no problems.

The lady said it is the paper in cigarettes which cause cancer and that is why people who smoke cigars don't get cancer, because the paper is made from tobacco leaves which also contain nicotine as in the tobacco being smoked. Now of course, that was probably some kind of creosote in the paper she burned but it worked and I experienced it myself.

So I was browsing for goodies and found this REALLY OLD article about the origins of tobacco smoking but it is written in very old english...so I am going to snip out the useful parts and translate to modern english. Noli me tangere as used in the document is Latin and means 'don't touch me';

Sick of Obamas endless Media Whoring

Are there so many blind people who can't see what a friggin media whore Obama is? He never misses a chance to get himself in the news or photos taken of him. He takes credit for uncompleted ideas that have NOT proven out, yet he acts as if its a done deal and everyone should bow down to him for his brilliance and command of the national scene.

It's revolting. At least the University in Colorado had the guts to state why they weren't giving him an honorary degree...because he hadn't yet earned it, nothing more...you don't get honors until YOU HAVE PROVEN YOURSELF and have the life experience and ACCOMPLISHMENTS to show you made a difference.

I guess he figured if he spoke there, he would get an honorary degree to add to his other AIRHEAD accomplishments so hats off to the university for 'declining' to grant him some other vacuous thing to boast about that means NOTHING.

And yet, based on opinion polls, commentators, comedians, media pundits, editorials and emails I read across the net, it looks like a wide range of people are FINALLY WAKING THE FUCK UP to how shallow and self-serving this jerk is.

If he actually DOES something that sticks and COMPLETES...maybe I'll change my views of him (as if that means anything)...but I saw it from day one and never bought into his Hollywood presentation of himself or his deeds....he is, as we say in Texas, ALL HAT AND NO CATTLE....yippee ki-yay MF!!!

I created this blog to serve as a catchall for all kinds of information. A hellbox is a container to collect used, damaged, spare or worn out items. When I worked as a technician we had several hellboxes which bailed us out of many emergencies. Some were circuits, other electronic parts, component, assemblies, odd screws/fasteners, you name it.

Hellboxes freak out those who are anal retentive and have to see everything always perfectly organized and in its place...SCREW THAT...you'll go nuts trying to keep everything in your life in perfect order. I know people like that who miss so much in life worrying over all the small crap that sucks up your time.

I wanted to name the site Hellbox but it was taken but seeing I am a huge practitioner of hellboxing, I figured I must be a............Hellboxer....thus the name of the blog.
